Benjamin Servideo, 24 of Newport, was sentenced on Tuesday at the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal for causing an accident that resulted in the death of a woman who was nine month pregnant and her baby.
Servideo was sentenced to 8 months license suspension, 100 hours community service at least 25 hours to be with children, pay fines, and to take a driver retraining course.
Servideo pleaded guilty earlier this month in traffic court to two violations. Police say, the 24–year–old was fumbling for his wallet when he hit and killed Sullynette Sanchez on Route 4 in September. Her baby was delivered, and died weeks later.
Family members have been vocal that they believe Servideo should face criminal charges.
