The RI Boys State Basketball quarterfinals were played on Wednesday night.
In Division 1, Hope upset LaSalle 65 to 51. The Blue Wave will face Coventry in the semifinals. The Oakers upset Mt. Pleasant, 71 to 66.
Hendricken upset North Kingstown, 53 to 49. The Hawks advance to play Classical. The Purple downed Cranston West, 72 to 55.
In Division II, Cumberland had no trouble with Exeter-West Greenwich, 79 to 62. The Clippers will face West Warwick in the semifinals. The Wizards upset Westerly, 62 to 59.
In Division III, North Smithfield remained the state's only unbeaten team by scoring an easy win over Ponaganset, 80 to 42. The Northmen will face Johnston in the semifinals. The Panthers held off Toll Gate, 58 to 55.
