Three Rhode Island Restaurants have been nominated to be semi-finalists for James Beard Foundation Restaurant and Chef Awards. The James Beard awards are a prestigious award in the "food industry."
The Persimmon in Bristol has been nominated in the Best Chef Northeast for owner Champe Speidel and in the Outstanding Service Category.
Matt Jennings, owner of Farmstead Inc., in Providence has been nominated in the Best Chef category.
In the Best Bar Program category Cook and Brown Public House has been nominated.
The winners will be announced in March.
