PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Gas prices in Rhode Island have risen more than five cents this week, according to a report released by AAA Southern New England.
AAA says they surveyed gas prices around the state on Feburary 18 and found self-serve, regular unleaded averaged $3.79 per gallon.
This price is five cents higher than it was during the week of February 11.
The current average price for regular unleaded gas in Rhode Island is six cents above the national average. One year ago at this time, the average price for regular unleaded gas in Rhode Island was $3.68 per gallon.
Rhode Islanders can expect gas prices for regular gas to vary by about 26 cents this week, from a low of $3.65 to a high of $3.91. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best price in their area.
