A teacher at a vo-tech school in Franklin Massachusetts has been arrested and charged with possession of child pornography.
Stephen Hickey, 60 of Warwick has been released to home confinement with electronic monitoring on an unsecured bond after being arraigned in Providence District court on Thursday. As part of his release he has been ordered to have no contact with minors including students he teaches at Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School.
Hickey's computer was seized and discovered to have images of child pornography on it. Hickey has allegedly been receiving DVD's containing child pornography in the mail. He was discovered after an investigation was conducted by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
According to Hickey's affidavit he told investigators that he had previously ordered and received DVD's containing child pornography but destroyed them after learning another person had been arrested for receiving similar products.
