A meeting for the Central Coventry Fire District is scheduled for this evening at 7 p.m. at Coventry High School. At the meeting the Special Master for the Central Coventry fire district will report on the district and ask for a vote on the fiscal year 2012-2013 budget.
If the budget is approved it could mean a tax increase for tax payers in the area. If the budget is not approved it may lead to the consolidation of the fire district result in the closure of two or more fire stations.
The Central Coventry Fire District is in receivership and attempting to grapple with a $1.5 million deficit.
