Rhode Island and Massachusetts remain under a blizzard warning until 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The storm is expected to begin between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Friday morning and continue until midday Saturday with total accumulations 24 to 30 inches.
Winds are expected to pick up speed late Friday evening into Saturday morning with speeds between 20 and 30 mph and gusts up to 60 mph.
Friday high temperatures will be near 32 degrees with lows tonight near 20. Saturday's highs are near 22 degrees with lows between 5 and 10 degrees.
Storm Timeline:
8-10 am Friday: Storm begins. Light snow expected.
10am -12 pm Friday: At least 1 inch on the ground. Snow will begin to pick up in intensity.
12-3 pm Friday: Steadier, heavier snow is expected heading into the evening commute.
3-7 pm Friday: 3 to 5 inches on the ground. Snow gains momentum. By 7pm blizzard conditions are expected.
7pm- Saturday am: Heavy snow falling at the rate of 1 to 3 inches per hour. Heavy winds with gusts up to 60mph, blizzard conditions, whiteout expected.
10 am Saturday- Blizzard conditions expected to desist but snow will continue.
12pm- 2 pm Saturday: Snow will be tapering off by 2 pm but considerable drifting and blowing will continue throughout the day.
