It was an emotional protest outside of the Rhode Island
Traffic Tribunal as the family members of a woman who was killed by a distracted
when she was 9-months pregnant calls for justice.
The woman, 23-year-old Sullynette Sanchez was killed when the
vehicle driven by Benjamin Servideo, 24, struck her vehicle. Sanchez gave birth
to the baby but the baby died two weeks later.
Servideo pleaded guilty to two charges at the Rhode Island
Traffic Tribunal and is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 26.
During the pleading the courtroom was packed with Sanchez's
family as well as Servideo's family.
State police say that drugs and alcohol were not involved in
the crash and the Rhode Island Attorney General's office determined that the
crash did not rise to criminal negligence.
