REHOBOTH, Mass. - A man has been arrested in Rehoboth, after police determined he was allegedly planning to sell large quantities of illegal drugs that were in his possession.
Police say around 1:00 a.m., they stopped a Toyota Tacoma on Fairview Avenue on suspicion that the driver was intoxicated. Police quickly determined that something was amiss, and searched the car.
During the search, police say they found a large amount of marijuana, prescription medications, cash, and other items that were associated with the sale of narcotics.
After finding the drugs and paraphernalia, police arrested the driver, Brian Diamond, 47, of Rocky Hill Road in Rehoboth. He was charged with operating under the influence, possession of a class-D substance with intent to distribute, and three counts of possession of class-E drugs with intent to distribute.
There was a female passenger in the car, but she was not charged with any crimes.
Police say Diamond will be arraigned Monday morning at Taunton District Court.
