Police are investigating an alleged abduction in New Bedford.
At approximately 10 a.m. on Thursday police were called to 1399 Phillips Rd. where there was a report of two men posing as police abducting another man.
A female resident was leaving her apartment when she says she was confronted by two tall dark skinned men who claimed to be police. They were wearing casual clothing with the word "POLICE" across the front and chains around their necks with "police badges."
The men took the woman's keys and escorted her back to her apartment. Inside, they handcuffed her boyfriend and escorted him out of the building and into a U-HAUL truck. She said she refused to go with them because she had her baby.
No one appears to have been injured. The men were last scene traveling down Phillips Ave. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Tyrone Jones at 508-991-6300 ext. 134.
