A local summer camp program has been devastated as a result of a New Years Eve fire and now they are turning to the public for help.
The summer camp office for the city of Pawtucket located in Slater Park burned to the ground destroying all the equipment that the city uses to run the camp in the summer.
The cashed strapped city is asking the public for any donations they can make to help keep the camp running.
The camp needs to replace board games, card games, sporting equipment, arts and crafts supplies. They are accepting item donations as well as gift cards or monetary donations.
Donations can be brought to the Slater Park Department of Recreation office Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Checks can be mailed to Pawtucket Parks & Recreation - Slater Memorial Park - Pawtucket, RI 02860. Please Note "Summer Camp Donation".
