Woman hit and killed by Acela train

A woman is hit and killed by a train in South Attleboro. Police say the woman was hit by an Acela train Wednesday afternoon as it was passing through the South Attleboro commuter rail station on its way to Boston. Nobody on the train was hurt.

Amtrak and the MBTA halted service for about an hour. No word on the woman's identity or why she was on the tracks.
