PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Police Saturday night arrested a man on warrants for two robberies, only to find out he had robbed a meat market just twenty minutes earlier.
Police say around 8:30 p.m. Saturday night, they arrested Steven Carrion, 34, on warrants for two other robberies when a meat market across town called police, saying they had just been robbed by a man matching Carrion's description.
When police returned to the Quisqueya Meat Market at 933 Broad Street, employees at the market identified Carrion as the one who allegedly committed the robbery.
Police say employees told them that shortly after 8 p.m., a man walked up to the counter of the market and insinuated that he had a gun, demanding cash. Employees handed over money, and the man fled the area. According to police, the meat market's surveillance video shows Carrion committing the robbery.
