7-car pileup on Sakonnet River Bridge, 3 police cruisers damaged

A 7-car pileup on the Sakonnet River Bridge shuts down the Southbound side for more than an hour. The accident involved 3 police cruisers and a dump truck. According to accident investigators, cruisers were already on the scene of the crash, when a truck barrelled over the bridge.

The truck could not stop in time, smashing into the rear of the cruisers, causing a domino effect. The cruisers have extensive damage. No one was hurt.
