Tonight is the night American Idol's Scotty McCreary will be performing some of his biggest hits, and it's happening right here in Cranston. The country sensation agreeing to perform during a father-daughter dance being put on by local Radio Station Cat Country.
The father-daughter dances were recently banned by the school after a single mother complained. Officials say gender specific events, violate State Law.
So, Cat Country stepped up and decided it would put on a dance for Cranston girls and any chaperone; moms, fathers, uncles, brothers, sisters, or whomever else they'd like to bring.
The dance is open to all girls grades 1 through 6 who attend Cranston Public Elementary School. Boys are not excluded from the dance, they are welcome. It will be held at The Rhodes on the Pawtuxet in Cranston on November 15th.
