Alexander Whitehouse was in and out of Newport District Court in about 20 minutes in his drunk driving case.

Friday morning, Whitehouse, accompanied by his father, U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and his wife Sandra, entered the court just before 9 a.m.

Alexander Whitehouse pleaded no contest to the charges. He will lose his driver's license for three months, pay a fine of $250, do 30 hours of community service, and he'll have to attend classes at a D.U.I. school.

Middletown Police say they saw Whitehouse drinking a beer while getting gas at a 7-11 store early Wednesday morning. He was arrested on drunk driving charges after he blew a 0.9 on the breathalyzer and admitting he drank seven drinks in two hours earlier that night. His friend was arrested on drug charges.
