Sample pool tests positive for West Nile Virus in Westerly

The Rhode Island Department of Health is reminding all Rhode Islanders to take precautions to protect themselves from mosquito bites after multiple mosquito samples tested positive for Triple E in Massachusetts. DEM reports the first positive result for West Nile Virus from a sample pool taken in Westerly. 

No positive EEE results have been reported in Rhode Island at this time. 

Massachusetts will be aerial spraying for mosquitos on July 20th and 21st in 21 cities and towns, including Rehoboth.
