Officials say Fall river pool, the site of a tragic drowning, is set to re-open June the 23rd

The Fall river public pool where a woman drowned last June,will re-open later this month.

Mayor Will Flanagan told ABC6 the pool is scheduled to open on June 23rd.

The body of Marie Joseph floated at the bottom of the Veteran's Memorial pool for two days without being noticed because the water was so cloudy.

The Mayor says they are taking stringent safety pre-cautions,saying they've re-examined their policies. They've also decreased the depth in the pool, reducing it from 12 feet to five and half feet.The Mayor says they've also addressed staffing issues, saying the staff will be attentive, keeping their focus on the patrons at the pool.
