Portuguese-themed WaterFire - ABC6 - Providence, RI and New Bedford, MA News, Weather

Thousands gathered in downtown Providence for a special WaterFire lighting Saturday night.

Along with the typical festivities, there was a Portuguese festival inside the Bank of America City Center. Hundreds danced, sang, and enjoyed some traditional Portuguese cuisine. Abc6 is a proud sponsor of the event, where there was also a torch lighting and procession of Portuguese flags.

The festivities continue Sunday. There will be a Day of Portugal Parade that will start at the State House at 1p.m.
