Man charged with DUI in Pawtucket Rollover

Pawtucket police say they have charged a 25-year-old Pawtucket man with driving under the influence, after his involvement in a rollover crash on Smithfield Avenue in Pawtucket early Sunday morning.

Multiple people, including the drunk driver, sustained injuries in the crash and were transported to area hospitals. The driver, police say, has been released from the hospital as of late Sunday morning.

Police say the incident happened near the St. Francis Cemetery on Smithfield Avenue, near the Providence-Pawtucket border. According to Pawtucket police, the intoxicated 25-year-old driver of a Hyundai sedan collided with a Jeep around 3 a.m. Sunday morning.

The Hyundai flipped over, causing injuries to the driver and at least one other person. However, police say no one was injured seriously.

The incident remains under investigation by Pawtucket Police.
