A Rhode Island man will be in court today to face charges. After leading police on a high speed chase through two states.

Police say 30-year-old Ignacio Abreu of Providence crashed into a Cranston police cruiser, which started the chase Wednesday night. They chased the man North up 95, then down 495, when the suspect got off the highway in Taunton. He cornered himself on a dead end street.

Daniel Blunt was terrified when police cruisers roared down his quiet street.

Blunt said, "My wife and I were sitting in the living room and we heard the cars, we could tell it was a high speed chase, we saw the lights and then we could see that it came right down the drive-way here, so we came rushing to the back because. We are friends with our neighbors and we care about our neighbors. We came to the back and saw the cops out of their cars running after the suspect so I told me wife shut the door!"

Abreu has outstanding warrants on drug charges. He will face additional charges in connection with hitting the cruiser and the pursuit.
