Fire officials say the fire at an old textile building in Seekonk is under control as of 8:45 Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out around 4:30 Tuesday morning off of Maple and Central avenues. Aerials from the scene, show flames burning and a heavy cloud of smoke billowing over the area.
The fire chief tells us the old building is vacant and has been for three or four years after the roof collapsed during an ice storm. Since the collapse, the chief says there have been trespassers.
No one was inside the structure and the surrounding homes were unharmed. The cause of the fire is unknown.
