Rhode Island cities and towns taking measures to cut their budgets

Cities and towns in Rhode island are sounding the alarm.The city of Pawtucket wants to take the drastic measure of cutting excessive overtime for firefighters.

The firefighters overtime budget is 2.5 million, Pawtucket officials say that figure will reach 3 million-with firefighters filling in for vacationers and sick call-they have already instituted other measures to hold down cost..

Middletown is holding an online auction to sell unneeded electronics and old equipment,even snow plows will be for sale .Town officials say they're not even close to bankruptcy..They just want to save taxpayers money.

Middletowns auction will start April the ninth,as for the city of Pawtucket, they expect a fight on the overtime cuts from the Pawtucket firefighters Union.
