As a multimedia journalist for ABC 6 News, you can usually find Abbey Niezgoda with a camera in one hand and a tripod in the other, eager to tell stories across Southern New England.
In June of 2011, Abbey traded her Texas roots for East Coast charm. She'll take a nor'easter over a hurricane and a trip to the Cape over a trip to Cancun any day. However, she still finds her heart aching for Houston every time rodeo season comes around.
A graduate of Emerson College, Abbey has covered everything from the Inauguration of President Obama to the Boston Marathon. She's won several Associated Press Awards for her work including investigative reporting and sports videography. She's also received two national Mark of Excellence Awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and a New England Emmy award for writing.
