Shannon is an Emmy Award winning Reporter and Anchor who joined ABC6 in July of 2010.

Shannon began her career in radio then worked for HGTV, Home & Garden Television, in Chicago, IL. Bitten by the news bug as a child, Shannon decided to follow her passion for broadcast journalism, taking a job at WHNS, The Fox Affiliate in Greenville, South Carolina. While at Fox Carolina, she reported on a multitude of stories, including the death of former President Ronald Reagan. She also had the opportunity to interview several celebrities, including actors Don Johnson, Bill Murray and Gene Simmons of KISS.

Shannon returned to her midwestern roots when she moved to Cleveland, Ohio as a General Assignment Reporter for WOIO-TV, 19 Action News. While there, Shannon earned a reputation as a respected and tenacious journalist. She developed a talent for breaking news and landed many exclusive interviews and stories. While in Cleveland, Shannon reported on a number of national stories, including the SuccessTech school shooting, The Bobby Cutts murder and trial, and the Anthony Sowell, Cleveland Strangler discovery. Shannon got an exclusive interview with Sowell's live in girlfriend and broke the news that she also happens to be the niece of the Mayor of Cleveland.

One of Shannon's most memorable stories took her completely by surprise. An SUV pulled up next to her during an early morning live shot. During a brief exchange with the two men inside the vehicle, she sensed something was wrong. She and her photographer followed the SUV, called 9-1-1 and led police to the vehicle. Turns out, the driver had been kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint. The victim credits Shannon with saving his life.

During her career in Cleveland, Shannon won an Emmy for Breaking News and was nominated for a second. Shannon has made many national television appearances, including on The CBS Early Show, FoxNews' On The Record with Greta VanSusteren, CNN and CNN's American Morning..

In her personal time, Shannon enjoys music, art and sports. She graduated from Marymount University with a degree in Economics and Political Science and played NCAA soccer. Shannon spends much of her time devoted to philanthropic causes, including as a board member of The Andy Nowacki Memorial Scholarship Fund, The Arthritis Association and was a founding member of The Northeast Ohio Fallen Hero Fund.

Shannon is originally from Kansas City and now lives in a suburb of Providence with her dog Daisy and two cats, Laverne and Shirley.
