Andrea Medeiros

Andrea joined ABC6 in August 2011. She's a native Rhode Islander from Tiverton.

Before coming to ABC6, Andrea reported, anchored and produced for KWQC-TV in Davenport, IA. While there, she reported on President Barack Obama as he traveled through the battleground state. She also covered the historic flooding on the Mississippi River.

Prior to KWQC, Andrea spent more than two years at CBS4 in Rock Island, IL, where she became the senior reporter. During that time, she was able to travel to Washington, D.C. with dozens of World War II veterans, as they saw a memorial built in their honor for the first time. She also investigated and delivered news reports on various weather events, political elections and serious crimes.

Before moving to the Midwest in 2008, Andrea graduated from Emerson College with a Broadcast Journalism degree, where she was co-news director for the news station, WEBN-TV. During her time there, the station won the Associated Press award for College News Station of the Year. Andrea also won the Department of Journalism RTNDA Award for excellence.

Andrea enjoys spending time with family and friends, eating at new restaurants, New England winters, and summers at the beach.
